JELENA DAVIDOVIC
Serbia-born accordionist began her musical education in her hometown at the age of seven. In 2011 she was accepted into the class of Grzegorz Stopa at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna, where she completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Music Performance with distincion. In 2017 Jelena moved to Detmold, Germany to pursue her Knowledge in Music Pedagogy at the University of Music and in 2019 got Master’s Degree in Music Pedagogy under the guidance of Maciej Frackiewicz.
Alongside her professors, she received additional musical impulses through lessons with Mie Miki, Inaki Alberdi, Janne Rättyä and Teodoro Anzellotti. She has also collaborated with various ensembles and renowned composers like Bernd Richard Deutsch, Jörg Widmann and Beat Furrer.
During the course of her musical education , Jelena won several prizes at national and international competitions such as International Accordion Competition in Castelfidardo (Italy), AKORDEON ART in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Accordion Competition in Kozani (Greece), Star Ways in Kragujevac (Serbia). Beside classical music, she gained successes also in serbian traditional music. In 2010 she was the first lady to win the competition Prva Harmonika Sokobanje after 48 years.
For the time of her studies, Jelena Davidovic participated in different projects and played in famous Viennese venues: Musikverein, Konzerthaus, MuTh, Wiener Kammeroper etc. As a soloist and chamber musician, she has been invited to take part at diverse festivals in Sweden, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Italy, France and Chile.
